Mike,

It must have been exciting and scary at the same time, watching the fire. Thanks for reading the blog!

I owned Evan Lewis Art Gallery in the mall. We were at the other end from the drug store but lost everything because of smoke damage. Lots of inventory because of the Christmas season ! The mall management wanted to keep charging me rent even though the mall was closed !

Hi Roger,

Wow, that is sad to hear. I'm sorry you lost all of that inventory. Hopefully insurance covered most of it. And sad to hear that the mall management was greedy. Thank you for reading the blog!

I was just reminiscing about the mall and found your blog. I was working for the Dave Cook Sporting Goods store there at that time and I remember working to get the store ready to reopen. The smell of smoke was pretty bad but the only water damage was in the basement. It was nice to read all the comments and remember some of the stores I'd forgotten the names of. I remember going grocery shopping with my grandparents at the King Soopers at the south west corner before it was even a covered mall. Thanks for the post!
