No matter the topic there are those who feel the need to insert their personal politics when they are anything but relevant to the topic on hand. Say something intelligent if you are able. The world will be a better place for all.

April, 1977 I had an hour long encounter with Ted Bundy in South Berwick, Maine at a Cumberland Farms gas station. Didn't know anything about him at the time. In 1986 when Mark Harmon portrayed him in the movie The Deliberate Stranger, that's when I realized that was the man desperately trying to get me into his rust pitted vw with the front seat missing, and a straight back ladder chair in its place with the legs sawed off. 4 new clothes line ropes and the largest adjustable wrench were on the floor. I declined the ride and going with him to drink white wine. I knew then, I had survived ( and my unborn baby had survived) this serial killer.

One of his presumed victims in Colorado was Shelley Robertson, a vibrant young woman from Arvada. Shelley was my girlfriend in 1972-73. I joined the Peace Corps in July 1973 and when I said my final goodbye to her (I believe at Sloan's Lake), I expected to return and rekindle our relationship (highly unlikely after 2 years). It was at the end of my PC assignment in Belize that I learned of her death. To say I was devastated is an understatment. In recent months, Shelley has come to me in dreams and I realize that I never fully processed what happened to her. My grief has been deep and the guilt I feel, even though there was nothing I could have done to prevent what happened to her, weighs heavy on my heart. I miss you, Shelley, and I'll always love you.

I am writing a term paper on biosocial and biocultural factors and using routine activities theory and social bond theory contributed to creating Ted Bundy. He was definitely charismatic, albeit a diagnosed psychopath, and dare I say handsome. The creepiest thing is that I have (not super long) brown hair and blue eyes.

Why does nobody speak about his escaped time. He made it to Cheyenne Wyoming. I was very young. Nobody listened to me. June of 1977
