This collection contains plans and drawings from significant regional architects including Fisher and Fisher, Temple Buell, Gove and Walsh, Burnham Hoyt, Victor Hornbein and William Muchow. If the original building permit lists an architect, check the catalog to see if your architect is included. Many of our architectural collections are indexed in our archives finding aids. Try searching your address or the name of your building here. While these collections contain thousands of original building plans (many of which are in the Digital Collections), most Denver buildings were not designed directly by an architect. Many contractors used plans from plan books or mail order sources like Sears. The Library has a collection of reprints of these early plan books. Search the catalog for more. For more information see the Denver Building History Tutorial.
Beginning April 20, the 2nd and 3rd floors of the Blair-Caldwell Branch Library are closed. The archives and book collection on 2nd floor are in the process of being moved to Central Library where they will be available via the Special Collections Reading Room on 1st floor starting May 1.
