The Rabbit Hole, or How Sheet Music Revealed a Missile in Civic Center Park

At the National Bureau of Standards in Boulder, Colorado, John Milton targets a rolling graph paper with a mechanical pencil. The date on the paper is: "Jul 23 1968." The glass, metal, and rubber gasket cover is opened, and the surrounding metal frames have electronic components mounted in them. Gauges, toggle switches, dials, digital (mechanical) readouts, and RF cables front each of the instruments.
