Center for Colorado Studies Now at Denver Public Library

I've had the privilege of living in and traveling to many parts of the country, and the world. But the Colorado Rockies remain my perennial favorite. Colorado has so much going on -- all the time! A huge variety of people, rich and (let's face it) often scandalous history, beautiful scenery everywhere you look, and cultural opportunities in towns big and small. It's enough to fill a million books. How do you keep up with it all? Well, the Center for Colorado Studies is making that part a whole lot easier.

We at the Western History and Genealogy Department are thrilled to announce that the Center for Colorado Studies (formerly the Center for Colorado and the West at Auraria Library) has found a new home at the Denver Public Library. Tom Noel, also known as Dr. Colorado, and history professor at UC-Denver, along with some top-notch editors, directors, and reviewers, created this collection. It was created to support research on all things Colorado.

Core to this collection are the Colorado Book Review and the New Publications List, together with topical resource guides to aid researchers. The book list is a bibliography of current, primarily nonfiction, works about Colorado, and for many of these, the only scholarly reviews you'll find for them are right here. Check out the Center's Research Guide to explore all that it offers.
