Photographs from the Rocky Mountain News Photograph Collection (WH2129) chronicling efforts to promote Denver as an Olympic host city for the 1976 Winter Olympic Games; preparations for the Games after Denver was officially named the host city in 1970; and a backlash movement that led to a 1972 state-wide referendum in which voters disapproved of a $5 million bond to finance the Games.
