Tower of Memories

8500 W 29th Ave, Wheatridge 80033

The Tower of Memories Mausoleum lies at the end of a grand esplanade that begins at the east entry of Crown Hill Cemetery. The seven-story tower was originally designed in 1926 by Kansas City architect Charles A. Smith. When his firm failed in 1928, Denver architects Fisher and Fisher were awarded the commission, and Smith's Gothic style detailing was superceded by Modernistic elements. In 1950, architect John Monroe was hired to complete the project, and the tower's granite surface complements the Modernistic detailing.
