Jim's Update, October 24th, 2014
Jim Kroll, Manager, Western History/Genealogy's Department has an update for our customers.
Come March 2015, the current iteration of the Central Library will celebrate its twentieth anniversary. Back in 1995, we completed the construction of the new home of the Western History/Genealogy Department.
Most of the building endured the Colorado weather and its inhabitants well, except for the original wool carpet. For the past three years, we have been gradually replacing the carpeting level by level. In early November, the Western History/Genealogy Department will have its turn.
During November and possibly early December, a contractor will remove and replace the carpet. Throughout these weeks, the Department will remain open for business, the only thing missing will be the art on our walls. Our awesome members of the reference staff will help researchers as usual.
