Michael Wise: Recipient, 2009 Fellowship in Environmental History

The Denver Public Library Western History/Genealogy Department is pleased to announce the recipient of the 2009 Fellowship in Environmental History, Michael Wise, a Ph.D. candidate pursuing a degree in History at the University of Minnesota.

Part of wolf catch, Mont.His dissertation examines the cultural and environmental histories of wolf eradication in the Montana-Alberta Borderlands, tracing these events alongside the regions corresponding histories of colonization and modernization.  This fellowship is provided through the generosity of Joy R. Hilliard.  Past fellowship recipients include Sara Dant, Megan Jones, Barry Muchnick, John Miles, Michael Yochim, William Philpott, Hal Rothman, and Sarah Thomas.
