I was a teenager before one of my Leadville relatives mentioned that of course she knew Baby Doe. She'd come by the house, and my great-grandfather would talk to her, perhaps give her something. My aunt said that she and her sisters would never talk to her because they were kids or teens, and they thought she was creepy.
