My grandfather, George Gibbons Hayes, was the "Rockhound of the Rockies" and arrived in Colorado via an Orphan Train, where the Hayes family took him into their home. George wrote 5 books on mining/prospecting and includes some of his and Colorado history in the books. I'm searching for more info on him as I'm writing his biography.
