If you are working against a deadline, please visit or call (720-865-1821) the Western History and Genealogy Department for a faster response.

Your question will be answered by reference librarians at the Denver Public Library Western History and Genealogy Department and replies may have a varying response time due to the unique nature of questions received.

Out-of-State Genealogy Researchers: We can not accommodate requests for complex genealogical research. Please contact a member of the Colorado Chapter of the Association of Professional Genealogists for in-depth genealogy research.

The Department is open to the public during the following hours:

  • Monday: 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.
  • Tuesday: 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.
  • Wednesday: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Thursday: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Friday: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Saturday: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
  • Sunday: 1 - 5 p.m.
